Before starting his career at CRI in 2001 he was Research leader of Entomology and Research Entomologist in Port Elizabeth and Nelspruit. He has been working in the SA Citrus Industry for 35 years as a Citrus entomoligist and has experience with red scale, mites, thrips, whiteflies, leafhoppers, psylloids, fruit flies and false codling moth.

  • PhD Economic Entomology, University of California, Riverside 1985
Current Research Focus 

Postharvest treatments for phytosanitary pests that involve fumigation; biological control of woolly whitefly; evaluating systemic chemicals as future treatments for Diaphorina citri.
