SOILBORNE DISEASES – How to collect soil and root sample for nematode and Phytophthora analysis

It is always good management practise to:
Regularly (every 3 years), determine the soil pathogen (Phytophthora and nematode) status in orchards older than 3 years of age – routine 3 year management practice.
When planning to replant or do topwork in orchards, prior to removing the irrigation or cut down the scion, collect soil and root samples for analysis.
